STONEBURNER

WHO AM I

The ability to make people cry or laugh or feel inspired through something I’ve created… it’s the best feeling in the world.

I specialize in human rights, disability & sports films, PSAs and branding.

FILMMAKER

Not a tourist.

I’ve solo traveled Japan, camped in the Sahara desert, swam with sharks in Hawaii, lived in Italy, took a selfie with Mona Lisa, spent eight days in South America, etc..

I’ve visited 18 countries, including 5 continents. (Australia & Antarctica… I’m coming for you)

Embracing new cultures, walking new streets, being open to unique experiences… it’s how you grow as a human.

The more I travel, the more motivated I am to keep exploring.

TRAVELER

Through my films, I advocate for underrepresented groups that I have a personal passion for.

Disability, LGBTQ+, human rights, etc..

ACTIVIST

MOROCCO, NORTH AFRICA

I AM KATIE STONEBURNER

Ultimately, I just love LIFE and EARTH and HUMANS.

That’s why I’m a documentary filmmaker. Real life, real places, real people.

I just turned 24. And as Neil Young says, “24 and there’s so much more”

So true, Neil. Let’s keep rockin’.

If you really want to get to know me, just watch this:

My inspiration is my brother

The best way I can describe the impact my brother has had on my life:

It’s 2014. I’m 13. My brother’s 11.

At this point in my life I’m an elite athlete training 6x per week. Year round.

My brother, who has Down syndrome, has basketball practice once a week for 6 weeks of the entire year.

His basketball practice starts at 6pm every Sunday.

Every Sunday I come downstairs at 10am. And every time I find my brother in full uniform, bag packed, shoes tied. Ready to go. 6 hours early.

At 13 years old, I quickly learned my privilege. My gratitude. My ability. My luck.

This is just one story. So simple. Yet so impactful.

It’s inspired me to suck every ounce out of life. And to give back.

I am who I am today because of my brother, Will.

My best friend for life.

Former Division 1 Athlete.

Football (I’ve been living in the UK for six months and can no longer call it soccer….) will always be a passion of mine, even if I no longer play.

It taught me intangible lessons of adversity, discipline and hard work that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Now, I love taking on sports film projects whenever I can.

It was my sweat, blood & tears for twenty years, I can’t not mention it!

ILL BE RUNNING AROUND

“I’ll be running around” is one of my favourite sayings, because….well I love to run around the world doing as much as I possibly can in this lifetime.

It’s a short life we live. So, you better start runnin’!

WHAT

NOW?

Now I’m living in London, England, UK while I pursue my Master’s in Documentary Filmmaking until December 2026.

“Chapter 21”, my most recent short film, is hitting the festival circuit, while I’m in pre-production of my newest short documentary. (Details to come!)

Lots of thangs in the works.

Excited & blessed beyond measure!
